PHP developers: demand still strong
![]()
The use of PHP is still growing, and this can only be good news for developers and website owners as the number of available jobs and skilled persons will increase too (we reported the growth in PHP demand during 2008 also in 2009 PHP skills demand).
Take a quick scan at the graphs below... and you will notice that the only language which is consistently growing it PHP. Not only that but almost all the others appear to be decline.
C# and Java are showing a small increase in demand by the end of 2009, but the language with the most consistent increase in demand is PHP.
PHP jobs advertised, increasing demand is almost linear year on year
JAVA jobs advertised, just starting to pickup again at the end of 2009
C# jobs advertised, demand just starting to increase by the end of 2009
C jobs advertised, demand could be tailing off
ASP jobs advertised, demand flat by the end of 2009
.NET jobs advertised, no real increase in demand during 2009
JavaScript jobs advertised, demand could be tailing off
(all graphs show number of jobs advertised within the UK, source: jobadswatch.co.uk)
